Safe With You by Lizzie James

Picture
Stalker. A person who can harass or persecute with obsessive and unwanted attention.
I used to think that I was happy, that I had met the one for me.
I was wrong.
He betrayed me.
He thought that I would accept that... I didn’t.
When I met Alex, he set me free. He made me feel things for him that I never felt for David. I was ready to turn the page and start a new life.
But Instead, a person that I thought cared for me, wanted to wreck the little world that I had made for myself.
He wanted to break me.
To make me crumble.
When you realise how broken you’ve become, how do you deal with it?
When the person you love gets taken from you, how do you go on?
Will the one at your side hold your hand and help you up or will they leave you as the broken mess you have now become?

3 Heart Review by Ashley

It is no secret that I'm always on the hunt for a good romantic suspense, so when I saw the blurb to Safe With You, I knew I wanted it to be my first read from Lizzie James. I was rooting for Charlie from the very first chapter.

I liked Charlie. She had been dealt a crappy hand in both life and love but she wasn't determined to somehow pick herself back up, again. Thankfully she had her firecracker of a best friend, Addie, to help push her out of her funk and into the path of hunky bar owner Alex.

Ohhhhh Alex! I liked that he had lived a hard life but dug himself out of it. But he never let himself fall for someone. Until Charlie. Her gentleness and kind heart called to him. When a threat from her past wouldn't seem to leave her be, all his protective instincts came out.

While it was no secret who was behind all the mayhem, I didn't see the turn Safe With You took coming at all. My heart was racing and then breaking as it all played out. Brimming with friendship and acceptance, Alex and Charlie's whirlwind romance was as dramatic as it was dreamy. And that ending...bittersweet with the right amount of tender to leave me with a smile.
