A smart and sassy leading lady...yes please Add in Safeguard being part of the Speakeasy world made picking this up a no brainer. I just loved Matteo. How he did what was necessary to give his daughter, Lauren, the life she deserved. Even if it meant uprooting everything they knew and starting fresh somewhere new. It also meant meeting new people and no one stood out more to him than Melanie. She was just the sweetest. Especially the way she was with Lauren. I loved the easy banter between Melanie and Matteo. The chemistry that they tried so hard to deny. The bubble of anticipation while I was waiting for them to give in to what they both wanted. The complications that arose because of it. I loved the way Stephanie Rose blended her world into this one. It was seamless. Low-ish on drama and full of family, laughter and love, Matteo and Melanie's friends-to-lovers workplace romance was so charming and heartwarming that I couldn't put it down.
