This isn’t just a two-year long one-night stand. It’s my life.

This is my life. Our life. It isn’t just some careless affair.

I’ve made the worst decisions a woman could, but I’ll earn my second chance.

She can try keeping all the guilt for herself, but I’m just as much to blame.

Loving Casey wasn’t my biggest mistake. Fighting it for so long was.

I’ll show her how fearless our love makes me. I’ll protect her torn heart.

He still has magic in his eyes. He’s the man who makes me happy.

Her voice still brings me to my knees. She says my name like it’s sacred.

I live for the day when I’m his. To take care of him. To love him the way he deserves.

I can’t wait to be all she needs. I can give her a happy life, security and so much love.

Sometimes two ships never meet in the night, but ours did.

Sometimes the water is rough. It beats you all to hell until you have no choice but get stronger.

Our love story reads more like a tragedy, but to me it’s clean and pure.

Let them point their fingers. Without a love like ours, they haven’t really lived. I pity them.

I’m a cheating wife and a villain. I am his honeybee.

I’m a snake in the grass and I sleep best when I’m lying next to his wife.

I want to be his everything.

I’m nothing without her anyway.

This isn’t even close to over.

It’ll never be over.

Review by Lorena

This is the second book in the Wake Series and let me just tell you that this series has me hooked.  People may not approve of cheating and I don't think it's right but when you love someone no matter what, even if that person is not your current boyfriend/girlfriend, fiance or husband/wife.  Sometimes we have to just think and realize if that person that we are with is really the person we are meant to be with and sometimes we just want to settle for what we think is best for us even though we know we don't get those butterflies in our stomach when we see them.  This is exactly the case in this story.

It picks up exactly where Bait left off.  Blake has left to sort out her feelings and she wants to finally grow some courage and end things completely with her husband, who by the way, turns out to be a real douche.  The problem is, can Casey wait for her and trust her enough to go through with her divorce and come to him permanently?

Things tend to get in the way and Blake not only has asked her husband for a divorce, but she has started seeing a therapist to help her sort out her feelings and confusion, who by the way is a wonderful woman giving her great advice.  The therapist was recommended by Blake's father, who Blake has grown very fond of because she always thought everyone would be against her for cheating on her husband but it turns out that her family was very supportive of her and her feelings for Casey.  Her husband is giving her a hard time about getting divorced.  He wants to work things out despite the fact that she cheated on him, but Blake doesn't want to because she knows who she wants to be with and he's not that person.

This book really had me hooked as much as Bait did and even though Blake at times would frustrate me, I understood why she did what she was doing.  She wanted her second chance with Casey to be perfect and real this time around.  She didn't want to be "cheating" on Casey and she wanted Casey to trust and believe in her that she truly was madly in love with him and she wanted to be with just him.

Blake was not very liked in Bait for cheating but like I said, sometimes you just can't help who you fall in love with.  I was frustrated when she accepted and went through the wedding in Bait, but then we wouldn't have the angst of waiting to see what would happen next with her and Casey.

Casey is my hero because that just goes to show you how much he loved Blake and didn't stop at nothing.  He fought hard for her and proved to her that he loved her and he would stand by her and support her in her decisions, whatever they may be.

The love between them was unconditional and so, so strong despite everything that went down with them since the beginning of this whirlwind affair.

This series has me captivated and longing for more.  I am hoping M. Mabie doesn't take long in delivering the third installment of Casey and Blake and see where their journey take us.  I have to say, so far this series has been fantastic, despite the fact that it is based on cheating.  But true facts is that this is life and this sh*t really does happen and even though you cheat, it doesn't mean that you will continue doing it.  When you find true love, you find it and there's no one else for you out there and no reason to cheat again.

M. Mabie lives in Illinois with her husband. She is the author of the steamy comedy Fade In. Her sophomore release, Bait, is the first book in the angst-filled erotic Wake Series. She writes unconventional love stories and tries to embody "real-life romance."

She cares about politics, but will not discuss them in public. She uses the same fork at every meal, watches Wayne's World while cleaning, and lets her dog sleep on her head. She has always been a writer. In fact, she was born with a pen in her hand, which almost never happens. Almost.

M. Mabie usually doesn't speak in third-person either. She promises.
