The world could be transformed if Riley can only stay alive long enough.

Most parents leave you a house, a car, or money when they die. Riley’s mom left her a treasure hunt with a mysterious payoff. Now everyone seems to want a piece of Riley and her inheritance: the university, the military, mega corporations, and Russian spies.

Riley needs help to solve her mother’s murder, and Dagger Easton’s salvage and investigation company comes to her rescue. Retired SEAL, private eye, and leader of a diving and salvage team, Dagger promises to protect Riley with his life. But as the value of her mother’s research becomes clear, Riley begins to believe there’s no one she can trust—not with her life, her heart, or her mother’s legacy.

3.5 Star Review by Ashley

After reading the blurb I was feeling excited to read my first book by Joanne Jaytanie. The premises was wonderfully original and add in the military aspect of the Hero and I couldn't wait to dive in (pun quasi intended). I found Salvaging Truth different from other romantic suspense novels and not in a bad way.

I liked Riley. She was strong and smart and savvy. Even in the midst of the mystery and all the danger she found herself in, she wasn't immune to the charm of Dagger. Ohhhhh Dagger. A good man with the best of intentions where his work is concerned. There was no denying that he was attracted to Riley.

From start to finish, this book continued to build. As the danger increased, so did the stakes. With not just Riley's life on the line, Dagger had to take a few calculated risks. And even as more pieces of the twisted puzzle came together, things between Dagger and Riley got more muddled. Until it all clicked. Holy geez. Talk about a dark and devious.

I found my first venture into Joanne Jaytanie's writing enjoyable. I was invested in Riley and Dagger's plight and budding romance. But I wanted more romance. And considering everything that had happened to them, I found the ending to be a touch too cheesy. Nonetheless, my fingers are crossed to see where this series goes.
