4 Star Review by Ashley

HOLY unexpected first time reading Katie Reus! When reading the blurb for Savage Rising, I saw romantic suspense with a unique twist and knew I wanted to give it a try. And am I glad that I did because this book hooked me from page one and had me reading furiously until it was all over.

Let me start with Zac- oh this jaded man with a heart of pure gold. I liked that he was skeptical of Olivia and the situation she found herself in. I liked that when we was wrong, he could admit it. I loved that he sacrificed his happiness for her safety when he opened his eyes and realized that Olivia was so much more than his mission. And Olivia! That woman is a force and then some. I loved her independence and strength. Her backbone of steel. Her gentle heart where her daughter, Valencia, was concerned.

It's when Valencia is threatened by unsavory characters from Olivia's not so stellar past, that the plan hatches. A mission with the good guys helping out to eliminate the risk once and for all. Forced into close quarters Olivia and Zac's fake relationship quickly became real. Real lust, real, steamy sex and real feelings. Also real, the danger.

From backstabbing and friends to hijinks and redemption, Savage Rising had me hanging on every word. Zac and Olivia's story was fast paced and no lacking in the steaminess. Katie Reus gave me a heart pounding story that had me wishing for more.
