Every mission has a price.
He never meant for her to pay it.

Aiden has never left anyone behind. Not a comrade and certainly not an innocent. But when an undercover mission goes wrong, he's forced to abandon a woman trapped in a human trafficking ring.

Violet learned brutally that no one is promised a happy ending. She knows Aiden blames himself for his part, but she refuses to let her abduction define the rest of her life.

She won't be a victim again. And she's going after what she wants: Aiden.

Watching Violet transform herself into a fierce warrior is the sexiest thing Aiden has ever seen. The honorable plan would be to stay away from her--let her heal and grow without the shadow of his mistakes clouding her progress--even though every instinct tells him to claim her for his own.

But when they discover the danger they thought they'd left behind is closer than ever, they'll have to face their deepest fears and fight side-by-side in order to survive.

4 Star Review by Ashley

I don't even remember how it happened by I am so glad I stumbled upon Janie Crouch's books, but am I ever glad I did. I am still clutching my chest. It's still racing after finishing Shamrock. It was dark. It was dangerous. It was devious. The start is rough. Hard. Ugly. But it's also a truth that is very real in today's society.

I like that the start of it overlapped the timeline of Eagle and gave some details on how Aiden and Violet met. It was the worst of possible scenarios but the attraction was instantaneous. Violet's intelligence and bravery were her strongest assets and she used them as best as she could to help her through her situation. And when Aiden and the Linear Tactical team stepped up and in, it was the start of some big changes for her.

One of which was bringing her to Aiden's hometown. Cue the sexual tension. These two had it in spades. But what they also had was a connection that went deeper. Aiden's patience and tutelage helped Violet heal, made her stronger. Strong enough to know her own mind and heart. And what she wanted was her bakery and Aiden. Even when he tried to push her away for her own good.

When Violet's safety was put into question again it was all Aiden could do to get to her. Heart stopping. The deception went so deep that nobody saw that twist coming. But once again, it was Violet's wit and strength that helped pull them through the danger.

One of my favorite things about Shamrock was how all the characters from the other books in the series play a part. Getting to catch up with Anne, Finn, Zach and Charlie was a real treat. And the groundwork that Janie Crouch laid for the next book in the series, flowed so seamlessly into this one that I am itching more more!
