I should have resisted him, but I couldn’t. My addiction to him was all-consuming, the high from his touch unlike any other. Without him, I couldn’t focus, couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe. With him, I hated myself for being too weak to fight the devil himself.

And Tyler Burnham was the devil.
He used me.
He lied to me.
But he loved me. And he still does.

Unable to stop thinking about the man who deceived her, Mackenzie Delano struggles to move on and forget that Tyler Burnham ever walked into her life. But she still aches for him, despite his betrayal. Her mind is at war with her heart, a war that could be the difference between living and dying.

Tyler Burnham is lost without Mackenzie. As he contemplates the meaning of everything, he tries to find a way to prove that his feelings for her are true. That he would walk through fire to keep her at his side. That he would sacrifice it all…his career, his fortune, his life…to protect her.

The truth is, he may just have to…

Slaying The Dragon is the suspense-filled conclusion to T.K. Leigh’s Deception Duet.

4.5 Star Reivew by Ashley

I am so glad that Slaying the Dragon picks right up where the first book in the series left off. You absolutely HAVE to read Chasing the Dragon or you will be totally lost as to just what is going on here. Though my heart was equally broken for Mack and Tyler, and for different reasons, I was rooting for them to get it together and figure everything out. And there is A LOT to figure out. Once again, T.K. Leigh masterfully wove a tale of intrigue and suspense with an all consuming love. The thing with Tyler and Mack's love is that it was far from easy. I liked that it was messy, complicated and built on a bed of deceit and half truths but deep and profound nonetheless.

I was beside myself with the lengths that Alex went through to try to protect both Tyler and Mack after the bottom dropped out of the original plan. So I can't even begin to imagine the depth of despair Mack was feeling. Tyler, while doing what Mack had asked has left her alone while he is halfway around the world doing good deeds and missing the other half of his heart. While Tyler was stewing, Mack is left to face yet another life altering surprise on her own.

Luckily, she wasn't really on her own. She had her wholes, Jenna and Braydon to help her sort her thoughts. And a surprise visit from Mama Burnham changes the course of everything. I loved Caroline's gentle compassion and motherly guidance. It was just the thing Mack needed to start to move forward and make new plans for her future. But Tyler had other plans. He had had enough of Alex and his meddling and had a new mission for himself...operation get Mack back. This was exactly what I had been waiting for! Tyler pulls out all the stops to try to win his woman back. He is patient and gentle while still being protective, sexy and broody.

The intensity and drama really pick up from this point forward. There are twists at every turn and three questions for every new piece of the puzzle that is unraveled. As the secrets of the past are revealed, Tyler and Mack's relationship continues to heal and grow. But the danger is also escalating. When the mystery of whodunit is revealed and all the minute details line up, my heart was pounding and my jaw was on the floor. I did not see that coming at all. T.K. Leigh has once again proven that no one can write romantic suspense better. Slaying the Dragon was everything I wanted and more. It was unexpected, gut wrenching and a brilliant ending to Tyler and Mackenzie's roller coaster journey of loss and love
