4 Star Review by Ashley Oh my yes, yes, yes!!! Soaked is what I have been anxiously awaiting since the jaw dropping and soul crushing conclusion to Wet. Yes, you need to read book one before jumping into this one. I'll be the first to admit I was critical of Stacy Kestwick's debut but her writing has grown in leaps and bounds from her first book to this follow up. Thankfully Soaked picks up right where Wet leaves off. Sadie is devastated with what she had witnessed and is more than ready for her planned escape. West, oh sweet, sexy West, where do I begin with you...I love this hair-tie wearing, boat captain, paper plane making man. He proved through not just his words, but his actions just how much Sadie meant to him. I loved seeing him fight with and for her. It was a side only Sadie brought out in him. He tried in all the ways he knew and a few that he learned along the way to prove his devotion to her. Even when him being a good guy got in the way of their relationship, his love for Sadie never waned. Sadie, sigh, my heart went out to this girl who had her heart and trust in love shattered. She thought the space and time would help heal her broken heart. It didn't. It made her lonely and she only ended up wanting more of West. Of course the antics of her new work colleague didn't help those feelings of longing either. These two can ever seem to get on the same page at the same time. Sadie's past comes back to haunt her in one of the worst ways possible. Then, there is still the issue of Aubrey and her meddling to deal with. I will say that I am beyond pleased with precisely how both of those situations were handled. While I would've liked some hair pulling or even a donut thrown, it wouldn't have been within the scope of who they were. All that being said, the best part of Soaked, for me, was the growth of Sadie. She embraced her fears and faced her demons head on. She came out stronger on the other side for standing firm in her convictions. Stacy Kestwick has found her stride as a writer. Her words flowed seamlessly from the page and kept me riveted to my kindle to see what would happen next. While there were quite a few things going on, the plot lines merged perfectly and created a world I got lost in. This book made me feel angry, heart broken and happy in equal measures. Oh, and that ending was so wonderfully West and Sadie and left me wanting so much more of them. About the Author ![]() ’m a Southern girl who firmly believes mornings should be outlawed. My perfect day would include lounging on a hammock with a good book, carbohydrates, and the people around me randomly breaking into choreographed song and dance routines. It would not include bacon, cleaning, or anything requiring patience.
