A second chance never tasted so sweet

He puts the Bad in bad boy.

She puts the Sweet in sweetheart.

When a hired gun burns out from the life he’s been living, he returns to the small country town where rumors run rampant and everyone goes to church on Sunday.

With sins and secrets trailing Jason Koster home, he is searching for redemption in hopes of living a life less complicated. He didn’t expect to find the only girl he ever loved now a recently single woman running her family farm.

Delilah Noelle never needed much, but she wanted Jason Koster—one time love of her life. When misunderstandings tear the former beauty queen and quarterback apart, can a second chance heal their broken hearts?

Will the years and circumstances that have passed be too much to bridge the distance to a future together?

Solace is a heartwarming small town romance with plenty of action and swoons that will have this hometown hero vying for the affections of his high school sweetheart.

3.5 Star Review by Ashley

I was so excited to see that S.L. Scott was giving me Jason's story. I loved this mysterious man in the Kingwood Duet and was so ready to get to know him more. Maybe I should've read the blurb because I wasn't expecting Solace to be  such a sweet story. That's not to say there wasn't some drama and danger because there was....

But first Jason! Broody, absolutely. Protective, without a single doubt. After being all around and back again, he finds himself home. I liked how being home and surrounded with the people of his childhood brought out a much lighter side to him. But no one had a bigger effect on him than one Delilah Noelle. The woman he's loved for as long as he can remember.

I liked Delilah- a lot. She was vulnerable but determined to protect herself from the only thing that could really destroy her; Jason leaving again. Too bad for her, Jason had no plans of going anywhere. He wanted his woman back and he wasn't going to let her jerk of an ex or their small town sway him.

As much as I devoured Solace, I found the final third of the book a bit soft (if that's the right word). I know that Jason was changing his ways and still very protective but there was more than one instance where the dialogue was downright sappy. However, that didn't detract from the overall intensity and there was that showdown that had my heart absolutely pounding. From cobbler to nights at the lake, S.L. Scott wove a second-chance romance that was as sexy as it was sweet.

Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She's obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she's a pro.
