Everyone has told lies but hers might get her killed.

Maggie Wilson has spent her entire adult life pretending she's self assured and confident, but that couldn't be further from the truth. When her hotel catches fire she finds herself looking at a childhood friend through new eyes, but as she falls for him she realises that if she wants to have a future with him she'll have to admit to the lies that have hung over her head for half a lifetime. If she does that she'll lose him.

Firefighter Theo Black walks through the flames to rescue his friend Maggie without a second thought, that was easy but realising things are changing between isn't. He's already done the whole falling for a friend thing before and it didn't work out, he has no intention of going through that again. However when it becomes clear someone keeps setting fires when Maggie is around he'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means risking his heart.

3 Heart Review by Ashley

I have been itching to get back to River's Edge since the first book in this series. And let me tell you, Jane Blythe went for it from page one. There are some hard and heavy topics broached in Some Lies Will Haunt You, but I promise they're handled with care.

I really liked Maggie. She had been through so dang much. And the more I learned about her past the more my chest ached for all she had endured and all she was facing now. Thank goodness Theo was there to help keep her grounded and out of her head. She brought out all of his protective instincts and had him questioning his stance on their relationship. Now if they could just figure out who had it out for the sweet woman.

I have to say, the same back and forth between Theo and Maggie got a little too repetitive. That being said, when the twist hit and all was revealed, my heart was pounding. Things took a dark turn that I didn't see coming but also worked so well and explained so much. From start to finish, Maggie and Theo's friends-to-lovers romance was intense and dangerous, deadly and emotional.
