From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Shanora Williams comes a steamy, forbidden standalone novel about a college woman who helplessly falls for her best friend's father. Dear Mr. Black, I know you were hurting. I heard your cries. I wished over and over again that I could make it better, but as you stated I was too inexperienced; too good for someone as bad as you. Perhaps you were right, but it didn't matter because what I did know was that I loved the way you felt--loved the way you smelled. I loved how hard you got for me, and when you called me your Little Knight. I can still remember that day in the park, when you held me close and kissed me deep. How you effortlessly made me cry your name on top of sweet smelling grass, making me feel like the only girl in the world. I loved how you looked at me, how you spoke to me. I had been madly in love with you ever since I was twelve years old, but I shouldn't have been. Isabelle would have hated it--my best friend. I couldn't afford to lose her. Besides, you two had already lost enough. Losing Mrs. Black was the epitome. It's Chloe Knight. I wanted to be there for you no matter what, but Isabelle needed me too. And she would have hated me if she ever found out I was sleeping with her father. ** Tainted Black is a forbidden love-story about a girl who helplessly falls for her best friend's father. After a tragic accident ends the life of Theo Black's wife, he turns to the one person he has always found interesting. Chloe Knight, the girl from across the street, his daughter's best friend, and a person that is considered completely off limits for him. ** - WARNING: If you aren't a fan of taboo love stories, age gaps/differences, of if you're expecting a novel with that "unicorn and rainbows" type of feel, then this may not be the novel for you. You may have just have found the right kind of love story for you! - - Taboo Romance (Best Friend's Dad) - Full-length standalone (98K words) - New Adult / Erotica Review by Lorena If you love taboo stories, then this is definitely one that you'll want to read. I am filled with all kinds of emotions after reading this book. I was left bereft at how it ended. I love taboo books, I love the whole concept of the forbidden story and how the couple goes about their love for each other knowing that there will be people and/or obstacles getting in the way of their happiness. The sad thing about these taboo stories is that most of the ones that I've read end up with not such a happy ending, at least for me they aren't happy ones even though for the people in the books it might be the best approach to their destiny. Tainted Black was a beautiful story to me. There was no cheating involved, at least amongst the two people that mattered in this story. Theo Black and Chloe Knight might have been wrong for each other since day one that they met but when there is chemistry, there is chemistry and you just can't deny it. They loved each other fiercely but knew it was wrong and in the end, the only feelings that mattered and they were concerned about were Izzy's, Theo's daughter and Chloe's best friend. It was wrong on both their parts to act on this lust they felt for each other at the beginning when their tryst started but deep down they both had stronger feelings for each other they just couldn't deny anymore. He was way, way older than her and obviously could be her dad, but the worse part was that he was her best friend's father. It never ends well when this happens! Chloe just happened to be there for Mr. Black when his wife got murdered and he was sinking into a depression. She was there to pick him up and help him out whenever he needed it. He realized from that point that he wanted Chloe, and not just as a friend but way more than that. As much as I was rooting for Theo and Chloe, I knew it was going to end with them having a happy ever after, but not the one I wanted. After all, Izzy, Theo's daughter is what mattered in this story and her feelings came first before their own. They sacrificed their love for each other for Izzy's love and friendship. Although it didn't pan out for Chloe in the end with Izzy but she did learn a lot through this crazy forbidden love she had for Theo. She was hurting and even though most times she couldn't find herself to stay away from him, but we don't always get what we want right! Not everything works out the way we want. She knew they were wrong for each other since the beginning because of their age difference and because of Izzy. I'm sorry but I'm a firm believer that love is love and it doesn't carry a number or status or race. Love is blind and no matter what we have to accept it, but we also have to see the consequences and the people surrounding them that get hurt in the end. This book was about a forbidden love, lust and betrayal. It had it's shocking moments, things that you never expected out of this book that left me with a WTH!! Another great taboo book that will stay with me because these types of books always leave me with a bit of sadness in the end knowing that not everything ends the way we want but see and feel that they learned a lot in the process of loving and getting hurt and letting go -- sacrificing in the end. Ms. Williams did an amazing job with this book that left me wanting to shed a few tears, both happy and sad tears :) About the Author New York Times & USA Today Bestselling author Shanora Williams considers herself a wondrous, down-to-earth author who's all about romance, paranormal, and the historical fiction.
