Haven had dreams and her big dream was to travel overseas and she was supposed to do that with her mom but since her mom wasn't around, she was going to go alone if she had to, so she needed a job to save up for her trip and what better place than working at Hayes' bar, right! Hayes wasn't willing to bend over backwards and just give this "little" girl a job at is bar but somehow she got Hayes' father to give her one and Hayes had no choice but to accept. So little by little these two had me laughing with their banter back and forth, whether it was them playing around or fighting, but they certainly were made for each other. He may be a little older than her, but he treated her like a real lady. He had a big secret that he had no idea how to tell her because once he did...he felt like she was going to hate him instead of continuing to love him. Hayes felt like his time with Haven was limited and he was planning on taking advantage of it as much as he could. This first book in the Beckham series was certainly right up my alley.
