Can the ending of one dream lead to the beginning of a new one? Will Gartner made a lot of mistakes in the past, but he finally has his life together. Leaving his reckless teenage years behind, he’s recently graduated from college and is all set to move from Las Vegas to New York to start a prestigious new job. But when an unexpected guest shows up at his farewell party, all Will’s dreams are smashed to pieces. Suddenly, he’s taking a crash course in how to be a father to the five-year-old daughter he never knew existed. Will changes direction and heads to Harmony Creek, Ohio, and the only person who’s ever really been there for him, his brother Chase. Chase saved Will in the past, but will he rescue him yet again? Some lessons—like fatherhood—can only be learned by doing. Is Will up to the challenge? And where does Emma Metzger fit into Will’s suddenly upside-down world? Emma knows all about his troubled past and sees his hesitation to commit to his new daughter. How can she commit her heart to a man who doesn’t know what the word means? Chase always told Will “Follow your heart. Always try to be a good man.” But will following his heart be enough for his daughter, and for Emma? The After of Us is a story about letting go of old dreams, and, in the process, discovering what you really needed to make you happy was right there in front of you all along. The After of Us is a spin-off of the Judge Me Not series and a standalone novel. 4 Star Review by AshleyAdmittedly, The After of Us is a different style than I'm used to from SR Grey but that doesn't mean I enjoyed it any less than her more suspenseful work. I also hadn't read the series that this book is a spin-off from but I don't feel like I missed anything. The plot here was very clear and easy to follow. And for me, it was nice to read a sweet book after all the angsty ones I've been reading lately. Will thought he was ready to step into adulthood but he had no idea how quickly his well-laid plans would come crashing down around him in the form of a lonely little girl named Lily. Oh that girl stole my heart from the first moment I met her; and she stole Will's too though it took him a little longer to realize it. I loved that they shared a mutual talent and that they used it to strengthen their relationship. This new turn in the road led Will to his brother's doorstep and to Emma's classroom. I was taken aback by Emma at first. She was equally sweet and sassy. Her goodness shone through as did her undeniable attraction to Will. The sparks between these two flew from the moment they met. I liked that she didn't back down and told Will exactly how she felt about his actions and how they were effecting Lily. I really enjoyed Will's progression for man-child to man. He learned how to put others wants and needs before his own and what unconditional love really was all about. S.R. Grey gave me sexy, sweet and silly in one easy to read package that left me wanting more. The After of Us is a story about the detours life takes you on and how that side road you never intended drive is sometimes exactly where you're supposed to end up- just like Will and Lily. It is a story of how love can heal even the most fragile and sheltered heart, just like Emma's. About the AuthorS.R. Grey is an Amazon Top 100 and Barnes & Noble #1 Bestselling author.
