The Boss was the perfect suspenseful and sexy way to kick of a new series. The opening alone had my heart pumping and eager to see what would become of Evie....

Ohhh Evie. I loved that she was fighting for herself and a life she knew she deserved more from. Was I nervous when she ended up in what could've been a worse predicament than she was running from...absolutely. But I needn't not doubt because from the moment Matteo laid eyes on her, something shifted in him.

I loved seeing Matteo, the definition of broody, protective alpha, soften a bit. All because of Evie. For so long his life had been all about the job and taking care of one threat, but that all changed. Too bad someone in his past was determined to make him pay for his actions, putting Evie right in the cross hairs.

My pulse was pounding as things came to a heart stopping head. I couldn't read fast enough to see what would happen next. That ending was just whoa! Talk about intense reading. I felt winded after finishing Evie and Matteo's chaotic whirlwind romance. I can not wait to see what Melanie Moreland has in store for this series next.
