![]() Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother. And that his best friend has a crush on me. And that I just moved in with them. Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates? I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing? He knows where to find me. 4 Star Review by Ashley What a fun and quirky read! I'll admit, it's been a bit since I've read a book from Elle Kennedy but I devoured The Chase. While YA isn't my typical read, there was just something about it that I couldn't resist.
Maybe it was Summer's kindness. How she never met a stranger. Maybe it was the brood Fitz possessed. Maybe it was all of the athletes. Maybe it was Brenna, Summer's sassy best friend. Maybe it was the drama. But I do know a good handful of it was the simmering sexual tension that was bound to blow at any moment between Fitz and Summer. As much as they were different, Summer and Fitz were very much the same. I loved how Summer had no problem calling Fitz out when he was being a jerk. And how Fitz, despite his best intentions to steer clear of Summer, just couldn't. The anticipation had me on the edge of my kindle. And when that bubble of tension finally burst...it was so worth it. But that doesn't mean it didn't come without it's own dose of drama. Fitz and Summer's story packed no shortage of drama but also a hearty dose of girl power. Summer is a character I would love to know in real life. And Fitz was the perfect counterbalance to all of her energy and tangents. He calmed her and she made him face his feelings. Overall, I found The Chase entertaining, adorable, frustrating and sexy. I am wholeheartedly looking forward to the rest of this series.
