The Lawyer Carmine Montesi is a killer disguised as a refined lawyer. He’s a loyal member of the notorious mafia – the Chicago Syndicate – and the boss just happens to be his brother. He has wealth, influence, and sinful looks and is rejected by no woman. Until the moment feisty Eva ruins his New Year’s Eve, when one heated encounter starts an illicit underworld game, placing them on opposite sides. The Tramp Eva Conley is an escort. She’s working to make the money she desperately needs to pay an outstanding debt. That is, until he gets her fired. He’s an ass. She’s the enemy. They hate each other from the first time they meet. Carmine’s only supposed to be her assignment. And Eva’s the one woman he isn’t allowed to fall for. Because neither of them can sleep with the enemy and make it out alive… A standalone novel from the Chicago Syndicate world. From Soraya Naomi, International Bestselling Author of For Fallon and For Luca. Novel Grounds Semi Annual Literary Awards 2014 winner of Best Breakout Novel For Fallon (Chicago Syndicate, #1). 4 Star Review by Ashley Well. Just give me a minute to catch my breath because this book was intense. And sexy. The Lawyer and the Tramp is my first title from Soraya Naomi but you can bet I'll be going back and reading the earlier books in this series. I'm pretty sure if I had read any Syndicate novels prior to this one that it would've been easier to keep some of the side characters straight. Nevertheless, this book can totally standalone. From page one the manipulation and who is playing who was on. What wasn't so clear, Eva's fate. I really liked this young woman. Despite all the garbage life has thrown her way, she's found a way to survive. Was it an ideal situation, not at all. Was she making the most of it, absolutely. Too bad one night of being in the wrong place at the wrong time set her already fragile existence spiraling out of control. Carmine, can you say walking contradiction? One minute he wants to strangle (or shoot) Eva and in the next, all the can think about is getting her naked. To be fair, he had a lot on his plate and Eva being there only made a sticky situation more complicated. Especially since there seem to be more questions than answers. Complicated and dangerous is just the tip of this twisted tale. Carmine and Eva's situation forces them into close quarters and where they discover there is so much more to the other than meets the eye. I liked seeing a softer side of Carmine emerge and Eva's backbone of steel only got stronger. But when their lies and half truths catch up to them, all bets are off. Cue the chaos! Holy heart stopping intensity. I was reading as fast as I could to get to the end. The one thing that had me wrinkling my brow was how fast Carmine changed his tune towards Eva. For most of hte book his distrust was wildly apparent (so was the lust) then seemingly when everything was on the line- BOOM- here come the deep feelings. This wasn't enough to turn me off though. From family to enemies and food to new partnerships, The Lawyer and the Tramp was a pulse pounding adventure on every page. About the Author Apart from indulging in chocolate pastries much too often, Soraya Naomi is also an avid reader. She has a passionate obsession with the written word and reads many genres but favors intense, seductive, and provocative novels where the male character loves fiercely, without remorse or boundaries. She adores Dark Romances, Romantic Suspense, Historical Romances, New Adult, and PNR.
Her debut novel For Fallon (Chicago Syndicate, #1) was released on July 26, 2014. She’s honored that For Fallon won “Best Breakout Novel 2014” in the Novel Grounds Semi Annual Literary Awards.
