When I say I devoured The Proposal I mean I skipped a meal and sleep to finish this nothing but feel good romance. Plus all the hidden breadcrumbs throughout kept me on my toes! I loved both Blakely and Renn. Their longstanding friendship lended itself to lots of fun and witty banter. It also led to one too many bad choices that changed the trajectory of everything. It brought out all of Renn's protective instincts where Blakely was concerned. The not so slow progression from friends to lovers to something more hit me in the chest. It was just so natural and for them. Despite the family drama. I mean wow. Talk about woof! But the way everyone rallied around them during the aftermath...insert slow clap here. Blakely and Renn's friends-to-lovers with a heaping dose of the forbidden is the type of book I always want to read. It gave me relatable, interesting characters.
