Some people are born in darkness. Some have darkness thrust upon them. Me? I was the darkness. Forged in the flames of my stepfather’s hatred, I learnt from an early age that life was cruel, harsh, and unforgiving. This life would destroy you unless you stood up for yourself, took control, and fought back. I was always a fighter, but my soul remained charred from the fires that consumed me. My heart an empty cavern filled with echoes of a life I’d never live. Branded with a vengeance that drove me to do for others what no one had ever done for me. I ran in a pack with my soldiers, but I was a lone wolf. A solitary soul set to wander this earth. People avoided me. They feared me. But not her. From the shadows, she watched. In the darkness, she waited. In her dreams, she saw something no one else did. She saw the real me. But dreams aren’t meant for monsters like me. And when a devil from my past comes back to haunt me, I have to make a decision for this life and the next. I need to keep her safe at all costs. My little raven. Death waits for no man. But neither does The Reaper. The Reaper is a standalone, new adult romance. There are scenes of a violent and sexual nature in this story, therefore it is intended for readers of 18+ years. Please take note of the trigger warnings listed at the beginning of this book. 5 Heart Review by Lorena Oh my gosh I'm so behind with the series (not really, just one book ha ha), but I am going to run and read Psycho because I really want to read Adam's story now. But the Reaper certainly had his good qualities and I know that these guys do their deeds not in a malicious way, their intentions are all in a good-will intention, but don't go poking the bear if you don't want to be on their bad side. Man, this cover is what caught my attention, along with the teasers and those little video teasers (oh lordie lord)! Nikki Summers is a new to me author, but holy smokes, she certainly has won some major stars with me because The Reaper was a book that if you read the synopsis you would think of it as a certain way but once you sit down and read it, it will take you by surprise if you haven't read Psycho. I am certainly going to say that I am totally on board with these guys and even though they say they aren't meant to fall in love -- yeah right! As soon as they find the right girl, BAM, they instantly fall in love. There was someone out there that was sending threatening letters to Devon and he needed to find out who was behind these letters because if he thought it was the person who was doing it, it would be pretty impossible for that person to be doing it for reasons that only he and his brothers were privy of knowing. He needed to get to the bottom of who was threatening him and if he threatened Leah then crap was going to hit the fan because that's where he drew the line. Honestly Devon and Leah were like she said, made for each other and she knew without a doubt that he was the man for her regardless of what he did or why he did what he did. Kudos to her for sticking to the man she loved no matter what. Totally loved this book! About the Author Nikki J. Summers is a romance addict who loves to write about strong, feisty heroines and dark, brooding alphas.
When she isn’t locked away in her writing cave, she’s teaching primary school children, or lost in her kindle. She currently lives in Staffordshire in the U.K with her husband and two children.
