Raised to resist. Bred to fight. Survival is in my blood and surrender is never an option.

Though surrender is what Maxim Cade demanded of my body and heart, I had other plans. We were fast-burning fascination and combustible chemistry, but the man I trusted with everything was a trickster. A thief who stole my love. If what we had was a lie, why did it feel so real? The man I swore to hate will have it all, and wants me at his side. But power is a game, and we’re the pawns and players.

Facing insurmountable odds, will we win the world, or will we lose it all?

5 Heart Review by Ashley

Sweet Lord. Kennedy Ryan what have you done to me?? I can't even put into words all the things I felt while reading The Rebel King. My heart soared. It shattered. It feared. It hoped. It broke again. It healed. And repeat...

If I thought Maxim and Lennix were electric in the first book of this duet, then they were downright explosive here. Their passion. Not just with each other but with the things they cared about. The causes that mattered the most to them. Family. Change for the better. They weren't afraid of shaking things up. But when tragedy strikes everything they had been building, all the progress they had made was on the verge of crumbling.

There was so much happening. Family. Politics. Scandal. But at it's heart, this was a romance in its purest form. I LOVE the way Maxim loved Lennix. He saw her. He heard her. He stood beside her as she ran after her dreams. And in turn she did the same for him. She was his soft place to land. His calming force. His everything.

More than once I had to pause and wipe my eyes while reading this book. Kennedy Ryan touched something deep in me with The Rebel King. Daring and bold. Imaginative and powerful. Moving and passionate. Completely addicting. I never wanted Lennix and Maxim's love story to end.
