No one wants to admit that sometimes only evil can extinguish other evil.
Each time I drain the life from their bodies, I inch closer to purging my past.
Then a by-the-book FBI agent--one as astute as he is handsome--threatens my plans...and what's left of my heart.
He doesn't believe there are exceptions to breaking the law. That's where we differ.
They once silenced me and countless others, but now I've reversed our roles.
Because, this time, it's my turn to be the silencer.

**The Silencer is a dark and gritty romantic suspense that deals with sensitive topics which may not be suitable for all readers.

4.5 Heart Review by Ashley

Holy crap and do I ever I mean HOLY CRAP!!! I know R.C. Boldt can write a mean rom-com but I had no idea something this dark and twisted could come from her. The Silencer is dark, gritty and raw. It dives head first into some uncomfortable topics, but I promise, if you stick it out, it is SO worth it.

Kennedy was so complex. Smart, bold, unapologetic, vengeful and lonely. It was the only life she knew after escaping the horrors of her childhood. That trauma sparked something in her that would not go quietly. She found her way to work it from both sides and it was exactly what brought Landon into her life.

Oh Landon. I couldn't help but like him. He was just a good guy trying to do his part to right wrongs and bring justice to those who deserved it. Too bad the case with Kennedy was pulling him in every direction. There was pressure from the top, from an unknown source and the battle warring in his head and heart as he tried to get a handle on his feelings.

I loved the push and pull between them. The chemistry. The heady tension. The heat. The feelings that neither wanted to admit they had, but couldn't deny. But it was all leading to the final showdown. The moment when they would both have to make a choice of what side of 'right' they wanted to be on.

I won't lie, I figured out that one twist about halfway through the book. But my heart was still pounding as those tense moments played out. Whew! Talk about intense. I still feel winded. Kennedy and Landon's unconventional love story completely consumed me with its depth and emotional content.
