The Sound of Temptation by Dylan Allen

Unbelievably gorgeous, wildly talented, and on the cusp of stardom,
Carter Bosch was the kind of man I’d never dared to dream of.
But the summer he showed up in my small town -  city slick and full of promises -
He put stars in my eyes and hope in my heart.
He called me his muse and said we were meant to be.
And until the day he broke my heart, I believed him.

Ten years later, his reputation tarnished by scandal and personal tragedy, Carter’s back.
He begins a relentless pursuit to win me back, but those stars in my eyes have been replaced by flames.
And for a chance to claim my ticket to freedom, I made a deal with the devil that I dare not break.
But, a rock god fallen from grace is still a god,
And a woman with her walls up, is still a woman.
Soon, my foolish heart is torn between duty and desire.
When it finally falls, he stands ready to claim it.
Just when we think we can see forever, a dark secret is revealed that rips us apart.
Loving him is forbidden, but my heart can’t let him go.
Because Carter and I are meant to be.
And what’s meant to be will find a way.

5 Heart Review by Ashley

First of all...this cover!
Second of all...THIS FREAKING BOOK!! Holy stomach churning, heart aching need to hug a pillow and have the bottle of bourbon near by while reading. The art.
The music.
The imagery.
The longing.
The hope.
The joy.
The pain.
The love.
The angst. My God the angst!!

I loved Carter and Beth from the first time I met them. Their connection was instantaneous. They felt it to their marrow that this was it for them. That summer changed them. Until reality came calling and life got in the way. Dreams got deferred. But when they came face to face again years later, it was like the clouds parted, the sun came out and the birds sang just for them.

New plans. New dreams. More love. More scheming and deviousness to try and keep them apart. Nobody saw that twist coming. Can you say jaw on the floor? I couldn't believe it. Neither could Carter and Beth. It was all so unfair. Life couldn't be that cruel could it?

Dylan Allen took me on the most emotional roller coaster ride I've had in years. My heart rejoiced and broke and hoped and yearned and bled right along with Beth and Carter's. Their epic second (more like third or fourth) chance romance slayed me. It was passionate and powerful. Raw and real. Sexy and scandalous. I was consumed by this story.
