Truth: From over a thousand miles away, I watched on the screen of my phone as two men murdered my wife. And I was helpless to save her.
Consumed by hate and rage, I spent four years running from my memories.

Until a shattered woman gave me a reason to stop.

Cora lived in a nightmare, but through sheer force of will, she’d turned it into something beautiful. She had a smile that could pierce the darkest soul. And with one glance, she shredded mine.

Lie: I was only there for a fresh start.
Lie
: I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

Lie
: There was nothing I could do to save her, either.

But that’s the thing about lies—you never know who to believe.

5 Star Review by Ashley

Deep breath. One in. One out.

Oh. My. Goodness. The first few pages made me grab my stomach. They were brutal in only the way Aly Martinez can be. And she didn't let up. Oh no. She poured on the pain and heavy in a way that should've made me uncomfortable but somehow didn't. It made me ready fast and furious to see if there was a way out...

At the center of everything was Cora. She is a warrior in the truest sense of the word. She fights for everyone, and puts herself dead last. But it's when mysterious and broody Penn ends up in her world, for some reason, she's taking risks she never has.

Good gravy, Penn. With his broken heart and need to escape. Except he can't. And when he runs right into Cora with her goodness and selflessness he doesn't know what hit him. But she wasn't part of his plan. And holy geez- as bits and pieces of it are revealed my heart rate kept increasing.

In a place where fear rules and hope isn't a part of the vocabulary, Cora and Penn somehow find a way to dream of more. With almost more twists and turns than I could keep up with, The Truth About Lies left me breathless. With a broken yet racing heart. And with hope. Because that ending...holy geez! I'm still not sure which way is up and where things are going next but I am dying to know!

About the Author

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children.

Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person.

She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
