Cruel. Coldblooded. Hades in a Brioni suit.
Cillian Fitzpatrick has been dubbed every wicked thing on planet earth.
To the media, he is The Villain.
To me, he is the man who (reluctantly) saved my life.
Now I need him to do me another, small solid.
Bail me out of the mess my husband got me into.
What’s a hundred grand to one of the wealthiest men in America, anyway?
Only Cillian doesn’t hand out free favors.
The price for the money, it turns out, is my freedom.
Now I’m the eldest Fitzpatrick brother’s little toy.
To play, to mold, to break.
Too bad Cillian forgot one, tiny detail.
Persephone wasn’t only the goddess of spring; she was also the queen of death.
He thinks I’ll buckle under the weight of his mind games.
He is about to find out the most lethal poison is also the sweetest.

5 Heart Review by Lorena

What a magnificent story this was.  I am completely enamored with the oldest Fitzgerald brother.

Cillian and Persephone definitely were so opposites but Persey is what kept Cillian balanced.  He had all kinds of issues and he was doing everything in his power to not ever have his secret come out in the light.  But sometimes no matter how hard we try to hide stuff, it always comes out whether we want them to or not.

Persephone stole my heart with how big her heart was.  How she opened up to people and was always there to help those that needed it but she also at one time needed help and Cillian was there to get her out of that problem.  She proposed a contract of marriage and at first Persey was against it but when she saw that she had no way out, she went with it, but it worked out for her because she's been in love with Cillian since the first time she laid eyes on him.  She was going in thinking that she could eventually change Cillian, but what she doesn't expect is that sometimes you can't change the Villain.

Cillian has always harbored secret feelings for Persephone but he was really good at hiding them.  The last thing he wanted was to show his feelings because he thought that his problem would come back and show it's rearing head and he was scared for that to happen, so he thought that by treating Persephone like she meant nothing to him, she would eventually give in and just accept what he had proposed to her since the beginning.

Little did Cillian know....Persephone never went down without a fight!

This book was another 5 Star read for me from this phenomenal author who can write like no other author.  I will jump in her books without having to read the synopsis because I just know that I'm going like her magnificent words no matter what!
