Never in a million years did I think it would be Ian Parker who saved me... I know I should stay away from Ian Parker. But when my drug-dealing stepdad kicks me out, I have nowhere to go. Squatting in an abandoned shed on Ian’s grandpa’s farm seems like as good a plan as any. Ian finds me there, of course, and he insists on me moving into his spare room. I should say no, but the appeal of a roof and a warm bed is too much. Not to mention Ian’s brown eyes and strong arms. We’re nothing alike, but the spark between us is undeniable. My life is finally looking up. Until I call the cops on my stepdad and unintentionally get my pregnant mom arrested. Now I have to sacrifice my dreams to take care of my mom’s baby. She’s the only family I have left. Meanwhile, Ian’s band is taking off; his dreams are coming true. Ian is my one chance at love. I just hope he doesn’t become the one chance that got away. 4.5 Heart Review by Lorena Hazel and Ian's relationship did not start on a good foot. She went to the ranch in search of a job. She wanted to prove that she could work hard and she was willing to prove that to Big Paw, the owner of the ranch. She was seeking to help her mother who was living a life of hell with her drug lord husband. Hazel didn't trust easily. She didn't have any friends and she tried to just mind her own business until Ian came along and started making her life a living hell. Ian had a bone to pick with Hazel. He was taking it out on her for what he went through with Charlie, Hazel's stepfather. He thought she was just like Charlie and wanted nothing to do with her. He was actually trying to get her to quit as soon as she started working at the farm and he was in charge of training her. But Big Paw saw something in Hazel and he knew the girl was in need of help and he knew that the right person for it would be his grand son, Ian. But little by little, what started off as hate towards one another turned into a friendship, slowly but surely. Both Hazel and Ian were damaged souls and little by little they were learning on how to understand each other and confiding in one another. This book certainly gave me the goosies, I loved how the characters developed. Brittainy C. Cherry has once again charmed her way into my heart with this heartwarming story. 4 Heart Review by Ashley Brittainy Cherry is at it again. Ripping my heart to bits and slowly stitching it back together only to shatter it again. I was invested in The Wreckage of Us from the very start that had me pulling for Hazel. I loved that girl. Her grit and determination. How she wanted more and worked for it. How she did what was right, even when it was hard. Even when she knew she would be the one to suffer. But what she never counted on was Ian Parker being the bright spot in her life. Oh that Ian. Broody. Cold. Loyal. Lonely. He was free with his body but greedy with his heart. He lived with his hurt and anger and wore it as a badge of arrogance. But Hazel saw through it. Saw him. Heard all the things he was trying to say but couldn't get out. Somehow, with her patience and kindness and grace, he started to let his wall down and it translated into big things. Things that changed his life. Changed Hazel's life. And not all of them were for the better. My heart was not prepared for the turn The Wreckage of Us took. Just when I thought they were going to have it all, the past came a calling. I should've known the other shoe was going to drop this is Brittainy Cherry book after all. And can I just say we all need a Big Paw in our lives. Gah! This book is the sweetest, most tender, most full of feels romance. Ian and Hazel's slow burning, enemies-to-lovers romance made me swoon for days. About the Author Author Brittainy C.
