He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not... New York Times bestselling author Kim Karr turns up the heat in a smoking hot, emotionally compelling new novel that takes you into the world of Manhattan’s elite. In Toxic, Jeremy McQueen, a sexy, intense, sometimes brooding entrepreneur goes after what he wants—the woman he left behind years ago. Phoebe St. Claire, a put together, in control socialite-turned-CEO has been drifting through life searching for something she thought she'd never find again—the right man to share her future. Our passion was boundless. Our lust untamed. And our desire endless. He was the only man who ever made me feel alive. Then, I betrayed him. When he reappeared, I didn’t question it. Trust rarely survives the wrecking ball, so when he let me in back in—I didn’t hesitate. Maybe I should have. What began as a bid to save my family business, turned into a second chance at love. It felt so romantic. Working together, side by side, with the man I loved. My dream come true. Nothing is as good as it seems. We had our issues, but then again, every couple does. It wasn’t jealousy, or our too-hot sex life that I should have been worried about. It was his darkside. I never saw the end coming, until it slammed me in the face. The question is—did he? Was revenge his plan all along? **** Sometimes you have to wonder if your life is too good to be true. Is it real or just an illusion? Does the man lying beside you really love you like he says he does? If the answer is yes, you’re meant to live happily ever after. If the answer is no, you’re living my life, and nothing will ever be the same. What you do about it—that’s up to you. Me, I’m in too deep and there’s no getting out. I’ll take whatever I can get for as long as I can because I know when it’s over… I’ll never find another man like him. Ever! Review by Lorena We get another fabulous standalone novel by the one and only, Ms. Kim Karr who has outdone herself once again. This book had me really intrigued with the whole story line. There was a little bit of suspense, drama, heartache, deception, lies and some really sexy love scenes. These two individuals, Jeremy McQueen and Phoebe St. Claire are exactly that to each other TOXIC. Since the beginning when they first met, they started off their relationship based on lies and when one found out about the other, they immediately took off without finding out answers to these lies. Phoebe was left wondering why Jeremy would just pick up and leave after one little fight they had. She thought he'd come around and they would talk it out and all's forgiven and forgotten but that's not how it went down. Jeremy left without a trace and Phoebe was left bitter and heartbroken. Jeremy always thought of Phoebe but couldn't understand why she would keep something from him so big and not just come out and tell him the truth. In all reality, Phoebe didn't want to ruin their relationship by telling him who she really was knowing how he felt about the rich people. Little did Phoebe know that Jeremy came from the same circle but there's so much going on with Phoebe, her dad's company, her ex-boyfriend Dawson. What were Dawson's intentions since the beginning with Phoebe? At first I actually liked Dawson and was a little upset when Jeremy took off on her, it pissed me off that he wouldn't fight for them or try to even find out what Phoebe's motives were to lie to him. I wanted Phoebe to have moved on with her life and had forgotten about Jeremy. But sometimes it's easier said than done and in this case, Phoebe just never stopped loving Jeremy. Dawson turned out to be a real piece of work but he sure knew how to be manipulative and conniving. In spite of all the ups and downs Phoebe and Jeremy went through, this book really took me for a nice roller coaster ride and left me all high and mighty once I was done reading it. I totally had my moments when I hated Phoebe but I could understand why she would react the way she did. The problem with her is that she would always run instead of talking and working things out and it came to a point when Jeremy just said "enough" and actually walked out on her AGAIN! But I think she totally deserved it and had it coming with her whining tendencies. I'm glad Jeremy made her work hard to convince him that she believed in him and wanted to be with him regardless of everything anyone said or did. Jeremy just wanted Phoebe to trust him. He had motives to do what he did and all he wanted was for Phoebe to trust him and believe in him. Obviously that's something they both had to work on because they both had those issues with each other. This book was fun, entertaining and had it's OMG moments! I would totally recommend this book in a heartbeat. Kim Karr has been one of my number one Author's and I always, always read her books even without reading the synopsis because I already know that I'm going to love this next book as much as I loved her previous ones!
