Twist of Fate by Tia Louise

To be “just friends” with a guy, you’ve got to follow The Rules:
Don’t touch him unnecessarily.
Don’t share your intimate dreams with him (even if he asks).
Don’t kiss him, and definitely don’t sleep with him.

Scout Dunne and I have been “just friends” since childhood.
He’s everything you could want—sexy, charming, confident—every girl’s wet dream.
Until we broke The Rules.

We broke them in the ocean, in my aunt’s bathroom, in my bed…
It was the hottest week of my life.
I’m one of the few people who knows the first-draft NFL star wants more than a life of sports.
Because we’re friends, right?
Not anymore.

Now he’s gone, and I’m trying to get my career back on track.
Mamma said a guy would never put your dreams ahead of his.
But the twist of fate?
It’s something you never see coming.

3.5 Heart Review by Ashley

I was intrigued by Scout when I met him in his brother's book. So I was thrilled to see Tia Louise give me his story. I will say that I would've liked a little bit more time with the characters in the now as opposed to the past but I understand needing to build the backstory.

I liked Daisy and Scout. They were young and ambitious. Loyal to their friends and family. And hopelessly in love with each other. So much so that they were willing to sacrifice their happiness so the other could pursue their dreams. But life happened. Plans changed. Dreams changed. That didn't mean they stopped wanting each other.

Call it destiny, fate, whatever you will, but when these two end up in the same place again, it was only a matter of time before all those old but not lost feelings resurfaced. I loved Scout's determination to make it work this time. How gentle and tender he was with Melody (the cutest football princess ever). How he couldn't hide his passion or desire for Daisy and a future with her. How he was determined to make it work. Sigh...Daisy and Scout's second, or should I say third-chance romance was charming, full of longing and left me with a smile on my face.
