Or will those secrets tear their hearts - and lives - to shreds? *All books in this trilogy are 50,000 words and will be combined into ONE paperback* Review by AmandaUnBreak This Heart is the 3rd book in the amazing Angel Warriors MC Trilogy and it is the story of Mason and Hilary. It is imperative that you read UnKiss Me and UnTouch Me first before you read this book as important plot twists are revealed. These books all run concurrently and are told in a past to present manner. Hilary and Mason (or Reaper) have a love story that started when they were kids. They met in school and from the moment Hilary knew what hormones were, she knew she wanted Mason. He is equally as infatuated with her and the two are inseparable. As Mason gets in deeper and deeper with the MC things start changing though and not for the better. It gets to the point where Hilary does not recognise the man she married and flees to be with her best friend. Mason, being the overbearing brut that he is, refuses to sign the divorce papers and their married life is left in limbo. Will the secrets they hide and the hurt they have inflicted on each other be something that they can repair to UnBreak their damaged hearts. This book left me with the worst book hangover imaginable. I have fallen utterly and completely in love with this series (and I have the biggest girl crush on Dawn Martens –she is magnificent). The emotional rollercoaster that you are taken on as the story is unveiled is enough to make your head spin. It is a tale of young love gone horribly wrong – in ways that will break your heart into a million little pieces. The character of Mason is not one that I had any intention of loving. He is the epitome of an asshole that deserves every bad thing life throws at him. However, Dawn Martens, is masterful and she transforms a character from one that is hated to one that we feel for and we know that he is misunderstood. It is amazing to me that a character that we had loathed through the first two books has actually become my favourite, and the one that tugs most at my heart strings. He is fractured and damaged – and in need of love and understanding. The character of Mason is a breath of fresh air. He is the anti hero and for that I love him. The character of Hilary is one strong willed, intelligent woman – she is who we aspire to be. She has strength, but is still all lady. I loved that we got to see the depths of her soul with all that she endured with Mason. She is someone that we all know – a friend, a sister, a colleague, someone we can all relate to. She has had this incredible relationship that began in high school, that all of a sudden turned sour. Instead of being a slave to love, she puts back her shoulders and does what she needs to do, and I loved that about her. She is the perfect heroine – although she loves Mason, she will not allow herself to be pushed around by him. This book was emotional and epically brilliant. Once again the book details the past and how Mason and Hilary not only fell in love, but also how they fell apart. It is gritty and painful and so true to real life. I think what makes this book so real is that the situations are so real and so relevant to our everyday life. Dawn Martens also has a way of writing characters that become our best friends – and when you reach the end, it is almost impossible not to want to start reading again. Dawn does switch things up in UnBreak This Heart in a way that you couldn’t possibly begin to imagine. I won’t give too much away, but this book is something that will stay with you long after you have read it. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, but most importantly I loved this book. What a brilliantly crafted tale of love. UnBreak this Heart gets 5 MOUTH WATERING STARS from me – what a way for the series to end. I am not sure if I want to hug Dawn Martens or shake her. My must read series of THE YEAR. Dawn’s number one passion in life is the written word, and she’s extremely thankful that she has to ability to share the ramblings from the characters inside of her head with the rest of the world!
