All around us was darkness and night…

I’m not a hero. I’m a survivor.
I had one way out, and I took it.
Now all I want is peace,

A place to pick up the pieces and start over.

But she wants justice.Names on a list, faces in the crowd.
I vowed to help her, but it’s taking us back to the demons.

Until he appeared.

I thought he died in the fight. I was wrong.
He’s here.

Stronger, more powerful… Sexier.

And dangerous.

The boy I loved is now the one man we have to fear most.
When he tried to save me, he had no power.

Now everything has changed, and he’ll never stop until I’m his.

4 Star Review by Ashley

Holy wow was this duet from Tia Louise intense. My hands are still shaking after finishing Under the Stars.  That was after I caught my breath from the jaw-dropping end to Under the Lights (which you totally have to read first). If I thought that one was rough and raw I don't even know what word to use here.

It was thrilling and gritty. Full of hope and doubt. Bursting with fear and love. I liked the (mini spoiler alert) time gap between the first two books. It proved just how much time and life couldn't dull Lara's love of Mark. Nor his for her. But they sure didn't make it easy on themselves.

I loved Mark's dedication and relentless pursuit of Lara, and the truth. But that truth dug up a lot of old skeletons and some unexpected allies. And holy heart pounding, buggy eyed, unexpected twist of all twists. My jaw was on the floor. That being said, if things had gone down any other way, the story just wouldn't have worked.

Hats off to Tia Louise for writing something that was utterly captivating. This duet was completely unexpected and wrapped up in glistening lights. Lara and Mark's journey was far from easy. It was painful but so worth the struggle and fight. It was pretty great seeing what started in the dark shine so bright in the light. Because love is never wrong. Oh, and that little teaser at the end...I'm so ready for it!
