Banks Huntington has always been a family man. After his wife’s tragic death, he’s holding on tighter to the only thing he’s got left. His son. Lamise Kelly walks into Harper Security Ops desperately hoping for a job. Working in a place filled with men who could see she remains unharmed is the perfect solution to all of her problems. Refusing to let her walk away, Banks offers her a different kind of job. Becoming a nanny wasn’t what she’d had in mind, but Lamise accepts the opportunity. Following unimaginable losses, the pair attempt to get their lives back on track. But it isn’t long before they find themselves forming an unexpected bond. Just as things heat up between them, a part of Lamise’s past she believed was gone forever returns. Banks never expected a second chance. If he wants a shot at forever with Lamise, he’ll have no choice but to confront her past. 3.5 Heart Review by Ashley I can never stay away from the not so sleepy town of Steel Ridge. There is always something dramatic happening and the start of Unharmed was no exception. I liked Banks. He was struggling for sure but doing his best to make life as simple and easy as possible for his sweet baby Rhys. Enter Lamise, also trying to get back on her feet after tragedy changed the trajectory of her life. Call it kismet, timing or luck, but those two meeting was the catalyst that changed everything for them, again. Lamise and Bank's slow burning romance was emotional and as tender as it was sexy. And while I would've liked more of the danger/suspense elements before the final few chapters, I get that there was a lot of build that needed to happen. These two were so meant to find one another and their journey to happy while riddled with pain was oh so sweet to read. About the AuthorA.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over forty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.
Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars! When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.
