What happens when a single mom’s four-year-old daughter falls in love with Mr. Right and she doesn’t?
Maggie Tyson’s rule: no bad boys. Her incarcerated ex-husband broke her of that attraction. Needing to escape his threats and the scrutiny of the people in her hometown, Maggie relocates to New York City. Determined to not make the same mistakes, she has a mile-long list of dos and don’ts. Unfortunately, her daughter, Cecily, doesn’t like to follow them. When Cecily wanders away from her and right into Rick Stone’s office, Maggie knows he’s the exact type she’s been trying to avoid. Can she resist him or will she succumb to his willful charm? Rick Stone’s rule: bed them don’t wed them. Running a multibillion dollar business doesn’t leave him with much time to do anything else, particularly with an overbearing grandfather breathing down his neck. But when a man works hard, he needs to play even harder. Voted America’s most eligible bachelor, Rick doesn’t have any problems getting women into his bed—except one. Two auburn beauties stumble into his life. One will break his heart. The other—heal it. Will he love or leave them?
Review by Lorena
I totally loved and enjoyed this beautiful love story about a woman who had closed off all her walls and didn't want anything to do with men.
Maggie's ex-husband left her scarred and technically she really didn't need someone to come and make her life harder than what it already was. Rick didn't want a commitment, he was actually afraid of commitment and only would call the girls in his little black book whenever he was in need of some adult time. But when Maggie's little daughter runs into Rick's office, she stole his heart from that moment. He fell in love with that little girl and she became his little best friend. When Rick and Maggie come together, they seem to not get along. Although they both start feeling that attraction for each other, they both fight it and they fight it hard but you can't deny that attraction. Rick's friends notice it and so does Maggie's sister. But Maggie is determined to not fall for him especially since he's a wealthy man and she knows she doesn't belong in his class. What I loved the most about this book was the interaction Rick had with Cece. That little girl will steal anyone's heart. She had a heart of gold and all she wanted was a daddy. Her biological father was a loser, lowlife and Cece deserved a father that was going to love her like a father loves their child(ren). Rick also had a piece of my heart because even though he didn't do commitment he realized when he fell in love with Cece that what he was missing was a family. He wanted to give Maggie and Cece that family that they deserved and he wanted to be Cece's father. This book had me with Cece and I have to say that I loved this story to death. Total two thumbs up for this read! About C.C. Koen
