![]() Town playboy. CEO extraordinaire. Monumental prick. And my blind date. Tag Calloway is toxic. If you aren’t in his small inner circle of friends, you’re nothing. An inconvenience at best. And it’s just my luck that my first blind date—heck, my first date since ‘The Incident’––happens to be with him. I’ve spent years hiding myself from men. From life. Wallowing in guilt and camouflaging my body. I live for one reason. Gigi. The broken-condom accident who has become the singular light of my life. Why did I let my friends talk me into this? He’s the last person I should trust with my feelings. My body. My scars. But when our night turns into something I never expected, common sense fails me and I fall hard, knowing this time, it won’t be my body that suffers gruesome damage, it will be my heart. 3 Heart Review by Ashley I'm not going to lie, it took me a bit to get into Unlikely Date. There was something about Tag when I first met him that rubbed me the wrong way. But about 25 percent in, things took a turn and from there on out I was invested. I liked Maddie. Reserved and cautious after all she had endured. She was doing all she could to provide a happy and safe life for her daughter, Gigi. At the urging of her friends, she was stepping out of her comfort zone and going on a blind date. Unfortunately she knew her match and it wasn't a pleasant surprise. I liked that for as much as she found Tag attractive, she didn't swoon at his feet. There is confidence and then there is Tag Calloway. It took me a good while to warm up to the guy. He came off as selfish and arrogant. But it was the way he tried to get Maddie to see herself through his eyes, to not just see her scars but the strength and resilience behind them that warmed me up to him. Maddie too. Now if she would just let him all the way in... I liked how Samantha took Beauty and the Beast and turned it on its head with Maddie and Tag's opposites attract romance. These two brought sarcasm and wit and steam. While I would've liked more time with them connecting to each other, I am happy with the way this ended.
