June Mayson and Evan Barrister’s whirlwind courtship resulted in a secret marriage right before he left for boot camp. Evan knows deep in his gut that June is too good for him, but after getting a taste of the beautiful life they can have together, he’s unwilling to let her go. June promises to wait for him, knowing neither time or distance will ever change her feelings for Evan—that is until she’s served with divorce papers while he’s overseas and she’s forced to let him go. Her marriage and divorce a well-kept secret, the last person June expects to run into when she moves back to her hometown is Evan. Angry over the past, she does everything within her power to ignore the pull she feels whenever he is near. But how can she ignore the pain she sees every time their eyes meet? How can she fight the need to soothe him even if she knows she’s liable to get hurt once again? Is it possible for June and Evan to find their way back to each other again? Or will they be stopped by an outside force before they ever have a shot? Review by AmandaUntil June is book number 2 in Aurora Rose Reynolds' Until Her Series. It is a follow up to her bestselling Until Series and I can guarantee you will keep you salivating for more of her alpha males and their boom. This book follows the story of June Mayson and Evan Barrister. It is filled with angst and pain, and really has to be one of my favourite Aurora Rose Reynolds books to date. June and Evan have a past that is both difficult and painful. They fell in love, got married - Evan shipped off to do his service and then as far as June knows he decided she was not good enough and he had his mother serve her with divorce papers. Crushed and broken hearted June swears she will never allow another man to get close to her or make a fool of her again. Unfortunately, life has a funny way of working out and when June's life is in danger, Evan is called on to protect her. Initially furious over the way things have panned out, she contacts Jax to get him off of her back. At this point, Jax makes it clear that Evan is the best man for the job and that he is going nowhere. It is a tale of love gone wrong and serendipity stepping in to try and reunite these two after much angst and pain. I loved every word written in this book. Although, Evan is broken and fractured, he is still every bit of alpha we have come to expect from Aurora Rose Reynolds writing. He is bossy, demanding and smoking hot. I fell in love with him from the first page. As the story develops and we learn more about Evan - I loved him more and more. Although he is a strong character, he is fractured - he has issues that he is struggling to cope with. June is typical of what we have come to expect from the Mayson women. She is strong, brave and most of all she loves with all her heart. I loved the way this character was written - flaws and all. Again we are exposed to the relationship between Asher and his daughter and it is beautiful. We also see how alike November and her daughters are in snippets between them. I am giving Until June 4.5 stars - it is a beautiful read that is filled with love and pain... Bittersweet. It is also filled with the alpha hotness and beauty. In my opinion a must read.
