32 year old Sebastian Vanwell, was a very successful yacht broker, who always loved the design and architecture of a luxurious boat. His only addiction was being on the water. He loved it, he thrived on it, and he needed it in his life. After a very stable, loving childhood with only a few bumps, Sebastian married the love of his life. The one person that he knew would always be there. Julia was his rock, and he loved her more than life itself. Sebastian kept his addiction to the water under control, wanting to keep his time with his wife and son his number one obsession, that was until he saw her. This new addiction haunted him, the one compulsion that he couldn't control no matter how hard he tried. Ysabelle Telle hit him hard, knocking the wind from his lungs. Coming from worlds apart, beautiful, dark complexion Ysabelle Telle didn't have the rich, protected background that Sebastian Vanwell had. Ysabelle lived a life of hell, in poverty, growing up with a drug addict mother that never cared, and horrific living conditions. Ysabelle lived for one person and one person only; herself. She was pure perfection, her beauty along with a flawless body had men lined up, driveling over her ensuring her success as a VIP. There are too many words that describe the effects when two diverse worlds like theirs collide. They both have too much to lose to get caught in the forceful pull, which could destroy them both. Warning sex/drugs/language. Mature readers only. Review by Erin Ysabelle Telle grew up rough. Her childhood could be considered a nightmare. She learned very young how to fend for herself the only way she knew how, selling sexual favors. With no friends, and a mother who never cared for anything but drugs and money, Ysabelle picked up and left home when she was 16. She finds herself in Miami, FL where she gets a job at a bar and eventually meets Madam, who forever changes Ysabelle's life. Madam trains Ysabelle to be a VIP, a high class escort. Sebastian Vanwell grew up a rich kid with his best friend Julia. Almost inseparable for most of their lives, it seemed they were destined to end up together. After being a high school baseball star and going off to college for his MBA, Sebastian married Julia and became a yacht broker. He lived for being on the ocean. One fateful night while Sebastian was attending a client's party, he almost literally runs into Ysabelle. Their attraction is immediate, but Sebastian is a married man. And Ysabelle, well, the only way to be with her is to buy her time from Madam. After that night, nothing is the same. I bought this book from Barnes & Noble, and please note that they do not yet have the updated version. Because of this, the editing isn't final. Even though its the older version, this book is still a great read. At first, it was a little slow. VIP starts off with the back story for each character and their childhood. Our main characters do not meet until about 50% into the book. After first thinking that there probably wasn't a need for as much of their childhood as there was, I understood why further into it. Sebastian always did what was right, even if it got in the way of what his heart truly desired. I admired him for that, but at times found myself praying he would finally do what he wanted. Ysabelle, after being taken in by Madam, finally learns her power and control. She really steps up and has the time of her life. Even though I didn't feel a lot of emotion in some scenes, I still had the adrenaline rush waiting to find out what happened next. The chemistry between Sebastian and Ysabelle is a force to be reckoned with, but will it be a happy ending? The characters are very well developed, and the story as a whole keeps you on your toes. It certainly doesn't follow your average romance story template. M Robinson, you did a fantastic job on this book, I give VIP 4 stars. I very much look forward to reading Madam's story.
