“Race me for it.”
Four simple words. Five desolate years.

Sebastian Kelly believes he isn’t worthy of redemption, of a chance to right his wrongs. But an unexpected trip home, the place he dreads most, calls in question everything he’s come to believe. And who knows, he may find exactly what he’s been waiting for.

Autumn

One broken promise. Two pink lines.

Autumn Norris knew in an instant her life would never be the same. Years have flown by in a flurry of sparkles and dress up, and Autumn has refused to let the anchor of regret pull her under.

Until she lays eyes on Sebastian, and the wave of why, where, and how could you flood her every thought.

Old hurt and new betrayal twist first love into a reluctant partnership, and theirs may be a bond even pigtails and butterfly kisses can’t mend. But the past five years have felt like a lifetime, and Seb is willing to wait as long as it takes.

Because the truth is, he’s always been waiting for Autumn.

4 Star Review by Ashley

Not gonna lie, I was karate chopped right in the feels from the start of Waiting for Autumn. Mistakes. Fear. Family. Friendship. Forgiveness. Those are just a few things that J.A. DeRouen touched on with this book. And I couldn't put it down.

My heart just ached while reading Autumn and Brady and Sebastian's tragedy. Because that is exactly what happened to them was. Tragic. Unnecessary. While part of what happened couldn't be avoided, and chalked up to youthful recklessness, so much of the pain from the aftermath could've.

But redemption is a dish best served with love. And that is the one thing that Seb and Autumn never let go of. Time and life and distance couldn't stop it. Guilt and fear on the other hand, tried their hardest. All it took was the sheepish grin and wild mop of hair from a shy little girl to set things in motion for Seb. I loved how he wouldn't back down. How bit by bit, piece by piece he showed Autumn that he was still the boy from her past and the man for her future.

Waiting for Autumn was an achingly sweet slow burn. Sebastian and Autum's journey was full of struggle and misinformation and pain. But it was also full of hope and joy and love. So much love that there was no way they weren't going to end up together. While J.A. DeRouen took my heart on a ride to get them there, it was all worth it because that ending was absolutely perfect.

4 Star Review by Lorena

This blurb is what really caught my attention when I first read it and I knew, just knew that I had to read this book.

I totally am a sucker for second chance romances and this definitely won my heart over.

Autumn and Sebastian started off as friends when they were children and once they grew up, their friendship turned to real love. They were definitely the equivalent of LOVE. They were inseparable and were always together. Brody, Autumn's brother was Sebastian's best friend and they were always up to shenanigans. Always finding ways to get into some type of trouble, well that led to an unfortunate circumstance that would eventually impact all their lives.

Sebastian left their little town without a word from Autumn and he tried as best as he could to move on with his life. When he had to return to their little hometown (5 years later), he saw a glimpse of the girl that he has always loved and continued to love. Sebastian knew in that instant that his love for Autumn was just as strong as it was before he left.

So, the question is, can Autumn and Sebastian find their way back to each other? Can they sit down and talk about what really happened 5 years ago and why they ended up apart all those years?

This definitely had my heart swooning. Sebastian couldn't get any more perfect than what he already was. Autumn really wasn't my kind of heroine, but I loved how her and Sebastian were trying to work things out, mend the broken parts of their lives.
