Catherine Cowles kicked off her newest series with a bang. Whispers of You was intense and dramatic and had me hanging on every word from the very start. I loved Wren. She was strong and kind. She took her trauma and tragedy and turned it into purpose. A way to help others when they needed it most. But the thing she never got over was Holt leaving and when he rolled back into town, all those feelings were brought back to light. My chest ached for Holt. He unnecessarily carried so much guilt and pain on his shoulders. The load was heavy and took a toll on him and the relationships he had with his family and friends. No one more than Wren, the woman he could never shake from his soul. Distance and time didn't work. And when she found herself in the middle of an escalating threat all his protective instincts came out to play. Nothing like a little forced proximity to make these two let it all out. Can you say emotional? Because it was but in a safe and tender way that felt like coming home. But not everyone was happy with their reunion. As the danger mounted and things got deadlier, it was a race to figure out who was behind all the mayhem. The twists and turns kept me guessing until all was revealed. My heart was about to beat out of my chest as everything unfolded. Wren and Holt's second chance romance was twisty and sweetly sexy and full of feels. I was consumed by these characters and this town. I couldn't get enough and I can't wait to head back to Cedar Ridge to see what's in store for this community and the Hartley's next.
