The edgy, angsty, addictive YA/NA crossover series from L A Cotton continues... Some hearts are too broken to fix. Kiera Lessinger’s whole life is a lie. Attend high school with her rich friends, check. Act sickeningly in love with her goofball-of-a-boyfriend, check. Pretend that every day isn’t a living nightmare, check. She didn’t ask to be thrust into her new life, but if it means escaping her past she’ll do whatever it takes to stay there. Even if it means forgetting the boy with eyes bluer than the ocean and a smirk that only ever led to trouble. Trey Berrick has cleaned up his act. No longer the boy breaking hearts with a could-care-less attitude, he’s finally trying to be the man his family always wanted him to be. Sophomore in college, check. The forever girl, check. But despite having the world at his feet, Trey can’t forget the girl with pink in her hair and pain in her eyes. He’ll always be the boy who broke her heart and she’ll always be his friend’s little sister. Their story was never meant to have a happy ending. Or was it? 4 Star Review by Lorena Okay so I'm late in the game (hangs head in shame) but I promise that I will go back and read the rest of the Wicked Bay novels as I fell in love with Kiera and Trey. From start to finish their love was undeniable, how they each held each other's stares being unable to do anything about it as Kiera was too young and pretty much it would be jail bait if Trey to pursue her the way he wanted. But nonetheless, they both knew they had too many obstacles in the way for them to be a couple. So they went on their merry ways. But Kiera couldn't deny how hurt she was that Trey didn't make an effort to try and make things right and the only people that counted were her brother and her mother's approval, but Trey didn't think that her brother would be game with him dating his little sister so he cowardly left it alone and instead found himself a girlfriend that his father approved of, now that he never approved of anything Trey did. Kiera also found solace in Jack even though she knew that what she had with Jack was just in passing, a fling for the summer until she had to leave to San Diego to start college. She wasn't in love with Jack, he was just a distraction for her. But when Trey comes back to Wicked Bay, can he prove to Kiera that his love for her is true and all he wants is to make her happy?? Kiera already has doubts when it comes to Trey, so can she trust him? This was such a cute romantic love story between these two kids. I am the type that will root for the main characters until the end no matter what obstacles are put in their way, I know they will find a way to make their HEA happen and that's exactly what Kiera and Trey did. About L.A. Cotton Author of mature young adult and new adult novels, L A is happiest writing the kind of books she loves to read: addictive stories full of teenage angst, tension, twists and turns.
