College sweethearts London Uphill and Jared Kraft were inseparable. He was a rising baseball star with a promising future, and she seemed destined to become “Mrs. Kraft.” Then a tragic night and a series of devastating mistakes caused Jared to walk away from his life, leaving London without any explanation and tearing the couple apart. Five years later, Jared has reinvented himself by putting down the bat and picking up a guitar to play for the red-hot band Wicked White. In all that time, London hasn’t gotten over her forever love—or the pain—despite seeking solace in the arms of the one man no one dreamed she’d run to. When Wicked White’s lead singer goes MIA, Jared finds the time—and courage—to return to his hometown and face the mess he made. He’s shocked at how London’s life has changed, yet he’s determined to prove their love is worth fighting for. Is this breakup too big for any hope of a reunion tour? Or can London open her heart to Jared once again? Review by Lorena What a book, I was left completely in a state of bliss. I've not read one like this in a long time and I was completely baffled with the storyline. There is absolutely nothing that London wouldn't do for her man Jared. These two have been in love since children and now that they're older and going to college they seem to have their future all planned out, or so it looks like until one fateful night when Jared's family get the call they've all been fearful of and that's when everything goes downhill. Jared has lost himself and he thinks he's not good enough for London and decides to take off without so much as a good-bye. London is thrown to the loop by Jared's behavior. She gets her heart broken and she's left devastated by the loss of the love of her life. Jared has decided to join a band after he loses his scholarship all due to a stupid mistake on his part. He feels like his life is nothing now that he's lost that scholarship and London deserves better than him. He tends to lose his temper quite a lot and takes it out on those he loves. He thinks it's best to let the loved ones find people in their lives that will make them truly happy. But when things go haywire for the band and the lead singer goes awol Jared decides to come back home after five agonizing long years. He comes back to find many surprises but he realizes that he has all the blame for what's happened with his brother, London and his mother. Can Jared repair the damage he's caused? I was completely shocked to who London turned to after Jared's absence but he has no one to blame but himself. He now wants to redeem himself and prove to London that he still loves her and that she's always been the one for him. The question is, can he convince London that he's truly there to stay? Can London break another man's heart? After all, he has been there for her even before Jared took off! This book had a bit of taboo in it for me and I love these kinds of reads. They're so intriguing and fun to read because we're always anxious as to what will happen in the end. I totally and utterly loved this book and I definitely loved Jared and London.
